Hampton by Hilton, York

Located within York’s central historic core conservation area, this redevelopment of a former garage site creates a new 143-bed Hampton by Hilton hotel and 8 new riverside apartments overlooking Clifford’s Tower, the ‘Eye of York’ and Castle Museum.

An existing planning approval has been redesigned and reconfigured to make the most of the site's potential by expanding the scope of the development.

The new design creates a larger hotel with brand-specific hotel rooms and ancillary spaces. Residential accommodation is increased with the creation of duplex apartments and the new buildings are configured to facilitate cost-effective construction close to the river and adjacent properties.

This redevelopment contributes to the regeneration of Piccadilly as part of the City of York’s 'Castle Gateway' revitalisation works, which includes plans to reinvigorate  the public domain by reducing the impact of vehicles and enhancing the quality of the street as a key pedestrian route into the city.
