Hampton by Hilton, York

The capacity of this site has been expanded to maximise its potential with a new design that adds two duplex apartments and 10 hotel guestrooms to an existing planning approval.

This new design creates a 143-bed Hampton-by-Hilton hotel for the Avantis Hotel Group with 8 new riverside apartments overlooking Clifford’s Tower, the ‘Eye of York’ and Castle Museum and is configured to overcome construction challenges close to the River Foss and adjacent properties.

Located within York’s central historic core conservation area, this redevelopment of a former garage site contributes to the regeneration of Piccadilly as part of York’s 'Castle Gateway' revitalisation works, reinvigorating the public domain by reducing the impact of vehicles and enhancing the quality of the street as a key pedestrian route into the city.
